In 2024 I got into birding. I really love watching small finches in my neighborhood, and one day while at the pottery studio, I envisioned hanging this birdhouse up in a backyard I’ll have one day so they can build a safe little home for their family.

This is a stoneware base, which has hole on the top. I’ll secure a bead to the bottom of a cord, and thread it up through the house to hang from a branch. There’s a small hole in the front where I’ll find, whittle, and slide in a fallen stick for birds to use as a perch.

The entire inside and outside is gazed for easy clean-up in a combination of an eggshell white glaze, walnut brown glaze, and cerulean blue underglaze.
